The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner for Cardiology Services will work under the supervision of a licensed physician fulfilling a broad range of medical services that would otherwise be provided by a physician. The PA/NP will provide any services within his/her scope of training/skills delegated by the supervising physician. The PA/NP will provide care for inpatients and outpatients, primarily patients that will be recieving Cardiology Services including, but not limited to, Cardiac Catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Pacemaker and ICD implants, electrophysiology studies, ablations and diagnostic cardiac testing.
Graduate of a PA/NP program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant. Current NCCPA certification, Current NYS license as a Registered Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, Current BLS and ACLS certification, Current National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) certification, Current NYS perscription privilege
Recent experience in managing and caring for patients pre and post Interventional Cardiology services. Experience in assisting physicians with cardiac cath and EP procedures preferred. Physically able to perform CPR, lift and transfer patients, document and stand/walk for extended periods of time, and wear protective gear as appropriate for assigned area including but not limited to lead and isolation garments. Practice reflects customer service excellence
