The OR RN is an Is an integral team member that provides safe and efficient care of the intraoperative pt. This position coordinates and individual patient plan of care after careful physical, emotional, mental, and psychosocial assessment of the patient and the proposed surgical procedure. Collaborates for optimum patient care outcomes with all members of the patient care team (preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases). The OR RN integrates standards into daily practice and serves as a role model and mentor.


Applicant must have a current New York State license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. Minimum 1 year experience in Medical/Surgical unit, Operating Room or other ambulatory setting. Completion of an accredited OR Nursing program is acceptable. BLS certification required. Must possess the ability to: stand/walk for 70-90% of the work day; lift 0-25 lbs; prioritize, anticipate, and alter activities throughout the day; cope with frequent risk of exposure to blood/body fluids, environmental risks related to chemicals/steam, and possible exposure to communicable diseases. Applicant must possess mature communication skills.
