Provide safe and efficient hemodialysis treatments under the supervision of the RN. Operate and maintain safe functioning of dialysis machines and other ancillary patient care equipment. Maintain daily log sheets including Reverse Osmosis system. Maintain, rotate and stock supplies. Participate in educational/professional development and performance improvement projects. Opening or closing unit. Maintain stock and supplies. Daily logs. Safe set up and break down of the dialysis machines. Cannulate arterio venous access. Maintain safe infection control in all areas. Complete regulatory documentation accurately and timely.
Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. BLS certification required. Hemodialysis Technician certification within 18 months of hire, though it is preferred the candidate already possess certification at the time of hire. At least (1) year of Hemodialysis experience preferred. Applicant must possess: mature interpersonal skills; ability to understand and assist with meeting the age specific needs of the patient; ability to learn multiple dialysis procedures and necessary infection control practices; ability to lift and carry a minimum of 0-25 lbs; ability to move, walk, and stand for approximately 90% of the work day.
