Performs leadership activities in accordance with the mission and vision of the organization and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing and Behavioral Health Services. Oversees day to day operations of the Access Center and Inpatient Psychiatric unit. Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary management team to provide direction of activities and operation of assigned patient care areas. The Nurse Manager ensures adequate staffing is maintained, provides direction to clinical and non-clinical personnel and evaluates the outcomes of nursing care.
Professional knowledge of nursing theory, practice and administration acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from an approved School of Nursing.
Current New York State license as a Registered Nurse.
Approximately three to five years on the job experience (preferred), including demonstration of progressive responsibilities in unit based nursing management.
Practice reflects customer service excellence and demonstrates successful interactions with staff, patients, and visitors.
Certification in BLS, and training in First aid and de-escalation techniques.
