    Responsibilities

    Nurse Practitioners (NPs) provide medical services including emergent, urgent and routine patient care needs to inpatients and outpatients located in all areas of the hospital in collaboration with licensed physicians.  The House Nurse Practitioner’s primary responsibility is to provide house coverage for emergency response functions in collaboration with physicians and other members of the care team. In-house coverage by the House Physician Assistants & Nurse Practitioners is provided 24 hours per day/seven days per week.  The House Nurse Practitioner may be required to assist with some functions of discharge planning, expediting transfers and evaluating patients for changing levels of care at the request of the Attending Physician, Medical Director, CQMO and/or the Department Director.

    Qualifications

    Physician Assistant—

        Graduate of physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessor agencies the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) and the Committee on Allied Health Education (CAHEA).

        Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

        Current Advanced Life Support (ACLS)

        Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
