Provides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Assists Interventional Cardiologists and vascular surgeons in the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, and other related radiologic procedures. The Cardiac Cath technologist will be cross-trained to perform as scrub technologist role to assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and vascular procedures.Assists in maintaining inventory needed for procedures and stocks supplies upon receipt.
This position is a 12-hour shift with variable hours. On call/recall is required for this position.
Recent cath lab and or Electrophysiology experience preferred. Physically able to perform CPR, lift and transfer patients, document and stand/walk for extended periods of time, and wear protective gear as appropriate for assigned area including, but not limited to, lead garments and isolation garments. Practice reflects customer service excellence
Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written format
Analytical ability to assess and develop solutions to clinical situations or unit problems. Ability to adapt to new technologies. Level of computer skill necessary in order to demonstrate a working proficiency with Microsoft Word®, Microsoft Excel® and Windows-based operating systems.
Current New York State licensure to practice Diagnostic Radiography, Completion of a two year approved ARRT School. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). BLS certification required.
