Responsibilities

The Pre-Surgical Testing R.N. is an integral team member in the safe, efficient care of the perioperative client. The P.S.T. R.N. coordinates the patients pre-admission testing process. Implements the patient assessment tool during patient interviews to establish complete and pertinent information on the patient. Collaborates for optimum patient care outcomes with all members of the patient care team preoperatively. The P.S.T. R.N. utilizes the nursing process to plan appropriate individualized patient care that reflects an understanding of age, patient rights and population specific needs and differences. Initiates patient education process based on individual patient needs.

Qualifications

New York State Registered Nurse License.
Minimum 1-year medical/surgical, ambulatory care, or pre-admission testing experience.

Possesses excellent patient interview skills.
