The SBIRT Health Coach provides interventional coaching through the implementation of the SBIRT protocol for patients facing alcohol and substance abuse issues. The primary area to provide these interventions will be the Emergency Department; however, it is expected that contact will be maintained with patients, their families and clinical teams to foster strong partnerships with patients as appropriate. The SBIRT Health Coach will provide decision aids, worksheets, questionnaires and other related educational and resource tools to patients.
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Studies, required. CASAC required.
Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in substance abuse counselling, health counseling, health coaching, motivational interviewing or related field
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) required.
Knowledge of statistical analysis software (SAS, SPSS), preferred.
Knowledge of IRB and HIPPA regulations, preferred
